Not a conventional war

This is not a conventional war and therefore conventional war should not be a answer to the Mumbai attacks. No one wants see this spiral out of control. The Indian government should maintain enough pressure on the Pakistani government to clear the terror camps in the tribal areas of Pakistan and Afghanistan borders. War with Pakistan should be the final option. More practical approach that I can think of is to create a joint task force and help Pakistan clean the filth that Pakistan's earlier rulers had allowed to mushroom. This way Pakistan has no options but to take action against the global terrorism originating from its land. More in detail here
